Kane is Able                 February 2, 2009                It’s official, the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year has been awarded to the outstanding linebacker of the Tri City Charge, Matt Kane. Kane had a terrific season and became a true leader for the charge. Kane finished the 2008 season with over 50 combines tackles, 20 hurries, 5 ½ sacks, and 2 blocked punts. Coach Richardson said, "Kane can do it all." Defensive MVP honors came as no surprise to the charge roster as he made a name for him self by making big play after big play. Kane is a versatile outside linebacker capable of totaling 50+ tackles with a bushel of sacks, interceptions, forced fumbles and passes defensed. His nose for the ball is unmatched.
