Tri-City benefits from the performance of standout DB Rich Tartaglia. Rich, at only 23 years old, he was a force to be reckoned with in his first year with the Charge. This Shutdown DB lead the team in INTs with five. Three came in a 16-0 victory over the CT Spartans. Stat lines would have been higher, but teams rarely dared to pass to his side of the field. Those who did pass his way, paid the price. Tartaglia set the tone all year long, as the Tri-City Charge fans watched a historic 11-0 Championship season in the NEFL.
Rich played both offense and defense, in the regular season finally, vs the Northern Berkshire Kings. Tartaglia filled in at WR to help pave the way to a undefeated regular season. He finished the game 5 receptions for 59 yards including a 35 yard game tying TD reception late in the third quarter. He also added a tackle and key INT in the game.
Rich was voted unanimously onto the 2008 All Star Team. The Charge were proud to have him represent the team. Tri-City can only continue to succeed as long as Rich is a part of the team.
