Foulds for defensive MVP? Josh Foulds of the Tri-City Charge was arguably the Charges most versatile player in its undefeated 2008 season playing multiple positions on both sides of the ball as well as special teams. During the 2008 campaign Foulds played running back, wide receiver, cornerback, safety, punt returner plus long snapper and was able to make game breaking plays at each position. When I asked, Coach Jesse Richardson, Head coach of The Tri-City Charge about Josh he had this to say, "Josh is the kind of player every team wishes they had on their team. He’s our version of the New England Patriots Troy Brown or a Wes Welker. He can play so many positions because of his intensity, high football IQ and his athletic ability." Tri-City made the move to put Foulds at defensive back early in the season against the Southern New Hampshire Beavers and what a move it was. Foulds had over 50 combined tackles on the season, 4 interceptions, a defensive touchdown, forced fumble, a fumble recovery and 6 pass deflections. These stats earned Josh his second consecutive NEFL All-star game appearance. As the everyday starter for the Charge Josh has the potential to approach 75 tackles and 10 interceptions, not to mention 10-15 pass deflections and a forced fumble or 2.
