It was a fun day of football in the rain. There were tough conditions for both offenses, when it's that wet just holding onto the ball becomes a real challenge. Ice did an admirable job at QB, even throw a TD pass to Billy J on a fire call during a FG attempt.
The defense did start to come together a little better this week. We do stuff totally on the fly with no planning at all, but I was able to install about 5% of a defense before the game . . .the guys did a pretty good job executing it.
We had a few stand out performances on D. Mark (#48) from the Pioneer Valley Indians had a great game at Sam backer; he was in on a lot tackles, outstanding job blitzing, just one of those players that has a nose for the ball. Mark even scored a TD recovering a fumble in the endzone. #4 from the Indians (don't know his name) had some big plays at SS as well; he had 2 sacks and a couple TFLs, and a forced fumble playing limited snaps in a rotation. It was also nice to see big NT Mark "Workdog" Workman from the Hawks back in action after missing all but 1 game of the regular season recovering from shoulder surgery; he played O today stepping in at center and did a nice job.
I'll give myself the AARP honorable mention player of the game. I had 7 tackles, but all of them were TFLs. Still sore as hell today, but not quite as bad as last week. I managed to avoid playing any O or specials, so that helped a lot with being winded.
